Business Objectives

Many people receiving care and services will have some form of sensory loss. The risk for mental illness, injury and social isolation is high. Hearing loss has been identified as a high impact/ high prevalence risk under Standard 3 of the Aged Care Quality Standards. In this learning activity, learners will cover the causes of sensory loss as well as how best to support people’s independence, social inclusion and mitigate risk of injury. Sensory Loss aligns to Standard 3 of the Aged Care Quality Standards.
