Incontinence is often one of the deal breakers for people to move to residential aged care. This learning activity looks at common causes of incontinence and a range of strategies to support the persons’ independence and reduce the impact of incontinence in their daily lives. A person centred approach to assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating continence is presented to the learner. Continence aligns to Standard 3 of the Aged Care Quality Standards.
