Professor Robert Feldman’s research has found that we all lie, and that this is more culturally embedded and accepted than people suppose.
Eve Ash asks Professor Robert Feldman about his book “The Liar in Your Life”. Over years of research, he has found that lying is something almost everyone does, we do it to interact more effectively or to impress another person. We tell lies knowingly and without thinking. We invent our backgrounds. One interesting finding of a case study involving undergraduate students is that within 10 minutes of meeting someone, the first person will tell three lies.
This program is one of the Insights and Strategies Series, featuring psychologist Eve Ash interviewing a range of experts and business leaders who share their experiences and practical strategies for achieving best practice.
