Seven Dimensions

Kylie Bells discusses a Roy Baumeister study which found that participants with the highest wellbeing were those who focused on the present. Mindfulness is defined as concentrating on the present, which is difficult if you’re distracted. Kylie Bell and Eve Ash discuss a study where iPhone apps randomly tested people for what they were thinking about: the past, present or future. It also tested for wellbeing. People with the highest wellbeing were those who focused on the present. The next highest rating of wellbeing was those who were excitedly planning for the future, and not worried about what it might bring.

This program is one of the Insights and Strategies Series, featuring psychologist Eve Ash interviewing a range of experts and business leaders who share their experiences and practical strategies for achieving best practice.
