Course Overview

This 1.5 hour interactive course covers the special considerations when administering IV iron and the rationale for and practice of giving IV iron polymaltose and ferric carboxymaltose for IDA.

Learning Objectives

Participants will learn why optimal iron levels are important in wellbeing and the principles of IV therapy. They will learn how to identify patients suitable for IV iron and understanding dosing be able to recognise adverse events following intravenous iron administration and know the special considerations for valid consent.

This course is a skills based course for those who administer IV iron in practice.
