Through a highly visual and interactive course, participants will learn the steps to performing IV cannulation.

At the end of this module, participants will:

  1. Be able to explain the steps involved in preparing the environment, equipment and patient for an IV cannulation.
  2. Know when to use each of the five moments of hand hygiene as part of the procedure.
  3. Be able to identify the potential complication that may arise and apply appropriate interventions to prevent complications.
  4. Be able to apply appropriate interventions when complications do arise.
  5. Be able to apply best practice to the care of an IV cannula.
