Audience: Parents, teachers, specialist teachers.
If you were taught a different way to solve arithmetical problems at school to the ones that your children/pupils use, that’s a good thing. It proves a really important point that can make mathematics more accessible. There is more than one way of approaching every problem. Flexibility with numbers is an important part of our sense of number and helps to make mathematics more intuitive and less about ‘doing it’ the right way.
This webinar explores how we can develop a flexibility with number through problem solving and discussion. Real world problems are an excellent way of practising skills and so we will also look at how to make maths interesting and relevant at home
