This webinar looks at strategies to develop and support the reading required in subjects other than English. As ever the strategies will be evidence validated and will be designed to accommodate and include students who think faster than they decode. Non fiction literature has its own challenges and the importance of establishing purpose and context will be discussed and benchmarked with research. A particular focus will be on approaches that include strategies to include students who little difficulty in “thinking” Science, History, Geography etc but who struggle to decode at the same level of competence.
