Colin McLaren, former homicide investigator, emphasizes the importance of visualizing and methodically charting the investigative path to solving a problem.
Course Overview
Colin McLaren, former homicide taskforce leader, tells Eve Ash that when investigating an issue, a good workplace manager tries to visualize the problem. They need to prepare their questions methodically and well (it could be as many as 70 questions!) and see in their mind’s eye where the questions will be travelling. It takes practice, but eventually interviewers learn to realize several questions ahead what responses are going to be.
