Key trade-related events and market movements can impact a trade while it is live, and result in changes to the trade and/or asset. Trading firms require procedures and processes to manage every possible change. We describe the different amendments and cancellations that firms need to prepare for, and how they change their settlement instructions accordingly. The effect of options being exercised and the problems that corporate actions can cause for the settlements team are investigated.
