This course offers the opportunity to explore and develop your practice related to:
The role of the SENDCo;
How to develop your SEND vision and bring this to life in all aspects of your setting;
Innovative and smart ways of working to ensure that you are implementing the SEND Code of Practice effectively in your setting;
Developing and quality assuring your SEND specific policies, procedures and practices in line with statutory guidance including your provision map, assess, plan, do, review documentation, SEND register, information report and policy;
Preparing for OFSTED;
Working with governors;
Early identification of need and intervention;
Outcomes:
Gain a more detailed knowledge and understanding of how to carry out the role of the SENDCo (Teachers’ Standard 8);
Develop a more understanding of how to effectively implement the SEND Code of practice (Teachers’ Standard 8);
Develop approaches to quality assure and further develop SEND policy, practice and procedure in your setting (Teachers’ Standard 2);
Ensure that the vision for SEND is addressed in all aspects of school life (Teachers’ Standards 1 and 2).
