Course Overview:
This 2 hour interactive course will review the role of opioids in managing pain in palliative care patients. It will include a discussion on the most commonly prescribed medications and general principles for using opioids to achieve pain control in palliative care.

Nurses and aged care workers
Learning Objectives
Participants will learn about the role of the most commonly used opioids. They will know the basis for selection of one opioid over another and the common interactions precautions and adverse effects and common barriers. Participants will learn the patient education required when nursing patients prescribed opioids.
