Course Overview

This 2 hour interactive course provides an overview of the pathophysiology prevention and treatment of gastrointestinal injury following exposure to radiation therapy.

Learning Objectives

Participants will learn how gastrointestinal injury occurs how to identify injuries and know the signs and risk factors. They will be able to differentiate between acute and chronic conditions understand symptom grading and differentiation and know how algorithm based treatments are used to improve quality of life.

This course will build the knowledge base of any nurse caring for a patient undergoing radiation therapy.
