In the interests of health and safety, it is a requirement that all staff come to work in a fit state to perform their tasks safely. This course explores the risks associated with having a worker affected by alcohol and/or illicit or prescribed drugs in the workplace.

Course consists of 3 minutes of video content combined with assessment questions and interactivity.

Learning Objectives

  • The definition of a drug
  • Examples of legal and illegal drugs
  • Problems caused at work by drug and alcohol abuse
  • What to look out for
  • Worker responsibilities

Target Audience

Target audience is all new inductees and existing blue-collar workers.

Business Outcomes

Research shows that contrary to popular opinion, the vast majority of alcoholics and drug users are not derelicts living on the streets, and they are people holding down jobs, often-responsible jobs, in our workforce. No one wins when drugs and alcohol are mixed with work. By having an educated workforce, your organization will reduce the risks of lateness and absenteeism, lost time and production from accidents, inefficiency, and the possible damage to plant, equipment and other property.

Duration

10 to 15 Minutes
