The Lean Course offers a practical introduction to lean management principles and techniques. The course is tailored to help the reader (s) implement lean manufacturing in business environment to improve productivity, business resilience, and to reduce waste.
In particular, the course;
Offers an overview of lean manufacturing techniques and initial advice on how to implement them in a business context.
Offers enough knowledge on lean management such that managers can make fully informed decisions about whether or not to adopt lean management, what lean techniques or tools are relevant to their particular environments, and the additional steps that might be necessary to implement lean management in their specific environment.
Presents a set of core lean management principles, tools, and techniques that are relevant to most manufacturing and service business models. The reader, however, may note that some principles are more relevant to their particular form of business than others – The guide offers the means for managers to select the principles and tools they wish to apply.
The course is written for service, retail, office, public organization, and all members of staff in manufacturing firms, regardless of whether they are in managerial or non-managerial functions. Student pursuing a course in processing engineering and/or business studies will find the course useful.
