Globally trichomoniasis is the most prevalent non-viral sexually transmitted infection (STI) and a public health concern. This 1 hour interactive course provides an overview of this STI.

Participants will learn about the incidence transmission and at risk groups. They will know how to screen and identify the symptoms and the most accurate diagnostic tests. Nurses will learn the most appropriate patient care and interventions.

In Australia trichomoniasis is most prevalent in rural and remote areas. It disproportionally effects women. It increases the risk of pelvic inflammatory disease and of HIV transmission and nurse should understand the screening and treatment options available.
