Course description

In the course will be introduced to Power Pivot 2013, what it is, what is new to Power Pivot 2013 and its place in Business Intelligence arena. Leading us into what is a Pivot Table, configuring and enabling Power Pivot 2013 and finalizing with platforms that support Power Pivot. Then we will take a look at Data Models and how they fit within Power Pivot 2013.We’ll then see types of Data Models and how they relate to Data Connections and how SQL Query Designer can be used as a Data Modeling Tool. Then we will look at importing data from other Data Connections and combining them together within a Power Pivot Workbook.

Each LearnNowOnline training course is made up of Modules (typically an hour in length). Within each module there are Topics (typically 15-30 minutes each) and Subtopics (typically 2-5 minutes each). There is a Post Exam for each Module that must be passed with a score of 70% or higher to successfully and fully complete the course.


Prerequisites

This course assumes that the users have an understanding of Microsoft Excel and how databases function.

Doug Ortiz

Doug Ortiz is an independent consultant whose skillset encompasses multiple platforms including .NET, SharePoint, Office, SQL Server, and Business Intelligence. Doug has a master’s degree in relational databases and over 20 years of experience in IT, over half of which have been within .NET and SharePoint. His roles both in and outside of SharePoint have ranged from architecture, implementation, administration, disaster recovery, migrations, development, and automation of information systems.
