Interpersonal effectiveness, at its most basic, refers to the ability to interact with others and includes the skills we use to:

  • Attend to personal and professional relationships
  • Maintain a balance between priorities versus demands
  • Balance the “wants” and the “should”

Interpersonal skills are also known as people skills because they involve communicating and working with others. We use them every day individually and as a group. These skills help grow strong and healthy relationships and are highly sought by employers.
