This training program is designed to present information on the nature of hazardous materials and help employees reduce or eliminate potential exposure to hazardous materials in their work environments. Upon completion of the program, employees should: • Understand the importance of detecting hazardous materials in any work environment.• Know about the different types of monitoring instruments, as well as their respective strengths and weaknesses.• Recognize the environments where IDLH conditions are present, and be able to use appropriate instrumentation to reduce or eliminate exposure risks.• Know when and why to use specific types of monitoring, and the role of each type in identifying the existence of hazardous conditions.
