The Bank of England implements monetary policy in the UK on behalf of the British Government. A Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of Court of the Bank of England is charged with the responsibility of formulating monetary policy and the means by which it makes an interest rate decision is discussed. How monetary policy is implemented in the UK is examined and we investigate the different policy tools at the Bank's disposal.
