What’s good about failure? It’s valuable if you learn from it. Dr Judy Olian tells Eve Ash that having experienced many failures, she has learned to ask what responsibility she bore, and to recognize when it had nothing to do with her. Failure isn’t fatal, she says, we can all move forward. The critically important lesson is determining how one needs to improve.
Learning Objective
Failure presents valuable re-routing insights for everyone, says Dr Judy Olian. We can:
• Learn from mistakes
• Discover how we were responsible
• Recognize where we were NOT responsible
• Accept what happened and move forward, the wiser for it
